For your buying pleasure: this is a spectacular Bronze statue Pride of The South by Jim Ponter (1942-2007) made for The Franklin Mint – limited edition of 9,500.
Acclaimed artist Jim Ponter has created a special hot-cast bronze tribute to the most admired Civil War general. Lee is portrayed carrying the Stars and Bars astride his magnificent horse, Traveler. Thanks to the age-old cire perdue (lost-wax) technique, no two sculptures are exactly alike. Each is painstakingly hand-assembled and hand-finished in rich patinas. The polished wood base includes a brass nameplate with the name of the work and artist.
Approx 15″ tall and weigh about 10lbs. Serial #1627/9500. Great pre-owned condition. Could use light cleaning / polishing. Was on display in enclosed cabinet.
Only what is described and pictured is included is included. The last image is from the FM catalog and is not included.
